CO2 Laser Peel

CO2 laser resurfacing (carbon dioxide laser resurfacing) can be easily customized for different skin concerns at different depths of the skin. The CO2 laser peel targets the surface layers of the skin for quick rejuvenation with minimal downtime.

What is the CO2 Laser Peel?

The CO2 laser peel uses the CO2 fractional laser set to a low depth for superficial treatment and quick rejuvenation. The CO2 laser uses fractional energy to gently strip away a thin outer layer of damaged skin cells, revealing healthy skin underneath. This triggers the body’s natural wound-healing process and increases collagen production, a protein that gives the skin elasticity, firmness, and a more youthful appearance. The laser energy also heats the skin and tightens existing collagen and elastin fibers. The result is tighter skin with a smoother texture and even, glowing complexion.

For an added collagen boost, add PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) to your treatment. PRF is a rich source of natural healing and growth factors that can further enhance your results and speed up healing for less downtime. RF microneedling can also be combined with your CO2 laser peel to stack the benefits further enhance skin tightening.

Combining RF microneedling with the CO2 laser peel combines the benefits of both treatments while maintaining very little downtime (1-2 days). When combining these treatments, expect to see the more immediate effects of the laser peel while the effects of the microneedle with radio frequency will take several months to develop.

Who is a Candidate for the CO2 Laser Peel?

Most men and women who are bothered by early signs of aging can benefit from light-depth CO2 laser skin resurfacing.

Conditions that can be treated with this innovative laser treatment include:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles

  • Mild skin laxity

  • Uneven skin texture

  • Hyperpigmentation

  • Enlarged pores

  • Mild acne scarring

Individuals with darker skin tones and inflammatory skin conditions might not be candidates for the CO2 peel. At your initial consultation, our team of experts will examine your skin and discuss your concerns to determine whether this is a safe treatment for you.

The CO2 Laser Peel Procedure

Full-face rejuvenation with the CO2 laser peel can be completed in as little as 60 minutes. As the laser device is passed over your skin, you will feel a mild warmth and potentially some prickling. Once your treatment is completed, you can immediately return to work and your other daily activities.

CO2 Laser Peel Results

There is little downtime after CO2 laser peel treatments but there are a few things to consider as your skin heals and recovers. Skin redness, flaking, and a rough texture are common for 1-3 days after treatment, so it is important to hydrate and apply a generous layer of moisturizer to the treated skin. This will prevent uncomfortable dryness and help your skin heal properly. It's also important to avoid direct sun exposure since this could increase the risk of scarring or skin discoloration. For optimal results, we often recommend three or more treatments, depending on the conditions you hope to treat.
