Dermaplane
Remove dead skin to even out your skin tone.
If your skin needs a quick refresh, Dermaplane is a great option that can easily be completed during your lunch hour or between errands. You can enjoy smoother skin with a radiant glow after just one dermaplaning treatment at our office.
What is Dermaplane?
The Dermaplane facial is an exfoliation treatment that can renew and even skin tone. Dermaplaning removes dead skin cells, unwanted facial hair, and surface debris like excess oils and dirt trapped in the skin’s pores. This is done non-invasively with a surgical blade. This is different than the use of an at-home facial razor. Dermaplane treatment in our office is performed safely by our registered nurse and removes up to two weeks of built-up dead skin on the outermost layer of the skin (the epidermal layer).
Who is a Candidate for Dermaplane?
Any men or women who want to have smoother, brighter skin are candidates for dermaplaning. However, you may have to wait to receive treatment if you have an active acne breakout or skin infection. Skin concerns that can be addressed with dermaplaning include:
Dull skin tone
Congested pores
Peach fuzz (fine vellus hair)
Acne scars
There are many benefits of dermaplaning but for more severe skin conditions, we may recommend other treatments that can penetrate deeper into the skin.
The Dermaplane Procedure
Dermaplaning is performed in our comfortable office space by our aesthetician. During your treatment, the surgical blade will be brushed across the skin with light pressure, but this does not cause any pain. Treatment can be completed in about thirty minutes, depending on the size of the treatment area. You can either receive dermaplaning on your entire face or smaller areas like the cheeks or forehead.
Dermaplane Results
After the dermaplaning facial treatment, your skin may be slightly red and swollen for a few days, similar to a sunburned feeling. This skin redness or pink flush may last for a few weeks as new skin grows and resurfaces the face. Keep your skin moisturized and use broad-spectrum sunscreen to protect your skin from harmful sun exposure.
Once new, healthy skin has resurfaced, your results will last about three weeks and can be maintained with additional treatments. It's important to note that this is not a permanent hair removal treatment and facial hair will grow back after treatment.
