What is Microneedling?
SkinPen is the first FDA-cleared microneedling device and we trust in its clinically proven safety and effectiveness. The SkinPen device is equipped with a sterile, single-use needle cartridge of multiple fine needles that puncture the skin’s surface during treatment and create micro injuries. The creation of these microscopic channels triggers the body's healing process and stimulates the natural collagen and elastin production to turn back the clock on aging skin.
Collagen and elastin are proteins in the skin that give it elasticity, firmness, and volume. Natural skin aging causes collagen production to slow down, leading to sagging skin, wrinkles, and surface blemishes that do not heal and fade away. As new collagen and elastin fibers develop, the skin is resurfaced with healthy skin that covers up dead and damaged skin cells. Collagen also tightens the skin to minimize large pores and lift mildly sagging skin.
Who is a Candidate for Microneedling?
Microneedling with SkinPen can be safely performed on healthy individuals of all skin types and skin tones. If you are aging or damaged skin on the face, neck, or decolletage, you might be a candidate for microneedling. Conditions that can be treated include:

The Microneedling Procedure
Microneedling is performed in our comfortable office space by our expert aesthetician. Although most patients do not find microneedling treatment to be painful, we can apply a topical numbing cream at the start of treatment to keep you comfortable. As the SkinPen device is passed over the skin, you might feel a mild pricking sensation from the needles. The entire treatment takes about one hour or less, depending on the size of the treatment area.
Microneedling Results
There is a minimal amount of recovery time after microneedling. For the first 2-4 days, patients may experience mild skin redness and swelling, similar to the feeling of a sunburn. Avoid strenuous activity and direct sun exposure and heat for a few days to minimize discomfort and swelling.
Results will develop gradually as tissues repair and new collagen fibers resurface the skin. For deeper acne scars or more severe skin conditions, a series of 3-4 treatments scheduled a few weeks apart may be needed to achieve the best results.
